WTATERLOO

The Oasis

In late 2020, Double Space acquired a 2349 sqm site on the Botany Road Corridor situated within less than 600 metres of the coming Waterloo Metro Station. The current improvements on the site include an industrial warehouse tenanted by two well-established local businesses.

In collaboration with DKO Architecture, we have successfully lodged a development application with the City of Sydney Council, which includes 47 boutique apartments and two retail stores.

The proposed development aims to create a vibrant residential and commercial space at this strategic location. It includes two distinctive residential buildings overlooking a green central courtyard along with a through link that bridges the active, industrial character of Botany Road and the warmer, “Local Streets” ambience of Cope Street. The development also dedicates a substantial area to the communal open space to meet the increasing demand for outdoor relaxation in a residential compound. On top of the central oasis, the rooftop gardens will feature amenities like barbeque, outdoor working space, lounge and bar seating elevating the experience for those who work from home.

Alongside the Waterloo Metro Quarter, the Botany Road Precinct Planning Proposal published by the City of Sydney Council in 2021 has further encouraged a more versatile development in the area. Bonus FSR will be awarded to developments promoting employment opportunities and housing affordability in the upcoming Gazettal.
